Sooo, I just got invited to a 30th Birthday party. A party being thrown by a person that I sort of know. Don’t know how I feel about this. To go, or not to go?
This is a pretty personal story that really happened to me, but I figure that it’s good to share, because maybe one or two people can benefit from my story in a positive way.
A lot of time has gone by, but my first experience with Ecstasy would be my last. I was at college and was offered some, so I took it because I was curious. Nothing happened, until, about 30 minutes later, I was in a friend’s dorm room where they were having a party, where I started to feel odd- dizzy and kinda nauseous. The last thing I remember is sitting down. What happened next was all told to me after the fact. One of my friends (no longer a friend) took me outside because he thought I might need some air, and he left me alone. This was a mistake on his part. Luckily, I was later found face down on the pavement by a RA (Resident Advisor) and an ambulance was called. When the ambulance arrived, I wasn’t breathing, and I was sweating heavily- hyperthermia. In the ambulance, the medics were able to get me breathing again, but I stopped breathing again just before the ambulance arrived at the ER, and was pronounced Dead on Arrival. They attempted to restart my heart and succeeded, but I was still in hyperthermia and was overheating- my body temperature had gone up to 104, so they had to pack ice around me in order to get my body to cool down. The next thing to happen to me was Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome or ARDS, caused by the shock my body was in, and one of my lungs collapsed.
During this time, I had a significant spiritual experience. I had come out of my body, and was looking down on myself from above, with the doctors and nurses scurrying around me. The next second, everything I was seeing seemed to fade into a bright white light, and I heard the voice of my grandmother who had passed away when I was 8 (I’m 23 now) telling me that my time had not come yet and that I was to return to my body. After this, I was in a drug-induced coma set up by the doctors for 3 weeks, and the next thing I know, I wake up in the hospital, still groggy from the drugs that were given to me.
I wanted to share this story in order to let people know about the real dangers behind more of the ‘serious’ drugs that exist out there. You should always make sure, if you do choose to take the harder drugs, where they are coming from, because for all you know, that red pill of ecstasy you’re about to take, might have been made by some meth head in a bathtub, cut with other hazardous and deadly substances.
